Professional Profile – Mehdi Barzegar
Mehdi Barzegar holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering, and a senior-level license from the Iranian Construction Engineering Organization. He is the Chairman of the Board and Technical Director at Naban Smart Engineering Company. With over 13 years of specialized experience in the field of smart building automation, he brings together deep technical expertise and strategic insight in managing intelligent building projects.
Before founding Naban, Mr. Barzegar—who was awarded a scholarship by the Ministry of Energy—spent 20 years serving in Iran’s national electricity distribution system. He held key positions including Head of the County Electricity Department, Governmental Manager at Mazandaran Power Distribution Company, and Senior IT Expert. This extensive background has given him a thorough understanding of complex infrastructures and system integration—qualities that distinguish him from those solely involved in commercial activities.
Mr. Barzegar has full mastery of all major smart building protocols used in Iran, including KNX, BUS, Zigbee, and advanced wireless systems. Under his technical leadership, more than 1,000 smart building projects have been successfully completed across the country, and over 2,000 professionals and technicians have received advanced training. Naban Smart Engineering now operates with a network of 15 official representatives across Iran
